Sections and collections

The FPS Foreign Affairs’ collection was created by merging four separate libraries at the end of the 20th century: the diplomatic library, the African library (formerly the colonial library), the international law library and the development cooperation library.

Bringing together these 4 libraries created one of Europe’s largest (in terms of its number of volumes) and broadest (in subject terms) libraries on international relations. As well as preserving its historical collections, the new combined library must also make sure it acquires any relevant contemporary works.
