Co-financing of non-governmental organizations

Five possibilities for co-financing of non-governmental organizations by the Belgian government:

  1. Co-financing of programmes (75 - 85%) exclusively towards recognized and registered Belgian organizations. Financing of NGOs from developing countries through this credit line is only possible in the framework of a partnership with a recognized Belgian NGO, that is present in the country. The list can be obtained through Service D3.1 "Relations with the NGOs" of the administration in Brussels.
  2. Belgian Fund for Food Security. This Fund, financed through the benefits of the Belgian National Lottery, exclusively finances projects in Sub-Sahara Africa, proposed by Belgian NGOs whose "partnership programme" has been previously approved by the Fund.
  3. Emergency Aid-Rehabilitation-Food Aid. This aid is attributed and supplied exclusively towards recognized Belgian NGO, international organizations and the Red Cross in the framework of natural and humanitarian disasters. Demands are receivable through Service D2.1 of the administration in Brussels.
  4. Conflict prevention and consolidation of society
The Belgian government finances projects and programmes in potential conflict-areas and post-conflict areas. The administration in Brussels (Service S3.1) accepts requests, exclusively on behalf of International Organizations and NGOs of Northern countries. More info...
  5. Consolidation of Society
This credit line allows for direct financing of NGOs from developing countries, however it is limited to the partner countries of the official Belgian cooperation. Request should be introduced exclusively through the local Belgian embassies (attaché for development cooperation).
