The South needs your support. Support to provide clean drinking water, to build schools, to combat child and maternal mortality, to alleviate hunger… Support, in short, to achieve an existence worthy of human dignity.

The most effective way to lend support is to give money. However, you could also take a more hands-on approach, by getting involved with any of the numerous development NGOs operating in the field. As a public body, the Directorate-General for Development Cooperation (DGD) cannot accept donations, but private development organisations can. Indeed, private financial support is the biggest source of income for most aid organisations. Without your help, they could not do the work that they do.

The federations and umbrella organisations of Dutch- and French-speaking development NGOs will provide you with contact details for all of their affiliated aid organisations, together with information about their activities.
