APEFE and VVOB
The APEFE (association for the promotion of education and training abroad) and the VVOB (Flemish Association for Development Cooperation and Technical Assistance) are not-for-profit organisations which support the institutional consolidation of governmental or para-governmental institutions in developing countries with which they have signed cooperation agreements.
The DGD subsidises their triennial activity programme based on a general agreement between the Belgian state and these not-for-profit organisations signed on 9 April 2008. The main objective of the programme is to fight poverty through the institutional, technical, administrative and managerial consolidation of governmental, para-governmental or multilateral institutions located in developing countries whose purpose is to provide effective aid to developing countries.
For each country, each triennial programme sets the objectives to be achieved, the expected results and the resources to be used.
