Deze lijst is van toepassing op de vrijwillige bijdragen tot de multilaterale organisaties. Daarnaast draagt de Belgische ontwikkelingssamenwerking ook nog bij tot de gewone middelen van een aantal organisaties en fondsen (= verplichte bijdragen).
De 21 multilaterale partnerorganisaties kunnen rekenen op meerjarige, structurele bijdragen. Er wordt met hen in principe ook jaarlijks een beleidsdialoog gevoerd.
Ter informatie: organisaties die niet zijn opgenomen in deze lijst kunnen in bepaalde gevallen eventueel toch nog genieten van Belgische financiering. Meestal zijn deze ad hoc-bijdragen afkomstig van specifieke begrotingsallocaties (zoals vredesopbouw of humanitaire hulp).
