This decision comes in response to the appeal made in the United Nations General Assembly Resolution of 13th July 2017 and to the call for contributions made by the United Nations Secretary General, Mr Antonio Guterres, to UN Member States on 25th July.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development Cooperation Alexander De Croo has decided to allocate 3 million euros for agriculture rehabilitation in Haiti in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. The Belgian Development Cooperation will support a programme of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO). The programme covers a period of two years.

Based on the information from this platform, B-FAST evaluates the possibility of providing assistance. It is important that this emergency aid has an added value to the aid already deployed on the ground.
