This exhibition is a collaboration with the Belgian Senate, works by contemporary artists and works from the FPS Foreign Affairs collection.

There is a long tradition of exhibitions at The Hague residence: a selection of works from the Antwerp Academy exhibitions, collaborations with provincial collections, a duo exhibition with works from the collections of De Nederlandsche Bank and the National Bank of Belgium, and now with the Senate. Not just a money issue

In the residence of the Belgian ambassador to the Netherlands, works of art from the collections of De Nederlandsche Bank, the Nationale Bank van België/Banque Nationale de Belgique and the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs were brought into dialogue as part of the exhibition Geen pure geldkwestie (Not just a money issue). This publication provides information on these works of art and outlines a broader framework based on three themes: art and finance, corporate collections and their different roles, and finally the impact of art and diplomacy.

The participating artists were : Hadassah Emmerich, Jennifer Tee, Maze de Boer, Guido Geelen, Christian Dotremont, Annemiek De Beer, Jan Dries, Johan Tahon, Ossip Zadkine, Benoît Platéus, Jean-Pierre Point, Dirk Braeckman, Marcel Mariën, Martin van Vreden, Katrien De Blauwer, Marie Zoliaman, Freek Wambacq, Stephan Vanfleteren, Maarten Vanden Eynde, Mon Colonel & Spit and Jacques Charlier.

The exhibition ran from 1 July 2020 to 1 July 2023. The opening took place on 26 October 2021. Subsequent events were planned, such as a networking event and round tables between Dutch and Belgian business collections on 31 March 2022, the programme booklet for which can be found below, and a more general event on ‘money laundering’.
