Services and structure

The central board of the FPS Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation consists of six Directorates-General and six Staff Directorates and Directorates.

Protocol directorate (P)

The Protocol manages the privileges and immunities of the international diplomatic community in Belgium, the official visits of prominent foreign dignitaries, the Egmont Palace and its conference centre, and the nobility titles and honorary distinctions.

The Protocol manages the privileges and immunities of the international diplomatic community in Belgium, the official visits of prominent foreign dignitaries, the Egmont Palace and its conference centre, and the nobility titles and honorary distinctions.

P0.0 assures the coordination and the management support for the Protocol Directorate, charged with financial management, human resources, IT projects, communication, quality control, etc.

P1 ensures the management of relations between the Belgian State and the foreign diplomatic missions and international organisations represented in Belgium, related to their privileges and immunities.

P2 is responsible for the organization of official visits of foreign dignitaries and the organization of events in the Egmont palace and its conference centre.

P3 is responsible for the elevation to the nobility and the decorations in the national orders.
