Passports are delivered to the municipality, embassy, or consulate where they were applied for. An exception to this are passports applied for using the very urgent procedure in a Belgian municipality; these are delivered to the very urgent procedure counter in Brussels.
The price of passports is determined by production and delivery costs, a federal fee ("consular fee"), the chosen number of pages, and the delivery time chosen for an application in Belgium, as well as any possible municipal fee.

Explanation:
- For passports for adults, the Belgian government levies a federal tax of €30.
- Monday to Friday are counted as working days. A passport application at a municipality on Saturday is processed as a passport application on Monday (or the next working day). Do not count: weekend days and national holidays.
- The amounts stated are the sums of money that the municipality owes to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for passport applications. Municipalities can charge an additional fee above this.
- For the additional costs of delivery of passports to embassies and consulates (international shipping), an additional fee of 10 € is requested for passports for adults).
- The very urgent procedure counter: Rue des Colonies 1, 1000 Brussels (near the Central Station), open from Monday to Friday (08:30 to 19:45, from 02/06/2025 until 18:30. In the exceptional case that the identity card or passport requested between 14:00 and 15:00 is still not available at 18:30 the counter will remain open longer) and on Saturday mornings (8:30 to 12:30). Payment is only possible by card.
