Reopening of the reading room
The reading room of the archive service is once again accessible to researchers since 7 January 2021 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM and will remain so for as long as government decisions allow.
This reopening is by appointment only and subject to strict compliance with the very strict security measures that were already in force in 2020.
To reserve one of the twelve available places, please send an e-mail at least two working days before the desired date.
Access is only permitted after confirmation of the appointment by e-mail.
When making an appointment by e-mail, the reader requests a maximum of 5 files at the same time, which will be available to him/her when he/she visits the reading room.
Inventories can be sent to researchers by e-mail on request.
Reservations for places in the reading room can only be made via the following e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Special precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19
Wearing a mask is compulsory in the buildings of the FPS Foreign Affairs.
Coats, bags and personal belongings that cannot be taken into the reading room can be stored in the lockers in the cloakroom.
The areas reserved for the public are adapted (boundaries, floor markings, limited number of seats, etc.). Please respect these instructions.
Visitors are not allowed to eat or drink in the building.
Hands must be disinfected before entering the reading room.
Inventories and other aids, microfilms, books or periodicals that are normally freely accessible must be requested from the archive staff. After use, the visitor shall return these tools to the reading room staff. Before and after each use, the visitor cleans hands with the hydro-alcoholic gel provided.
The latter also applies when using the computer in the reading room or the microfilm reading equipment.
If a visitor refuses to comply with health and safety measures, access to the reading room may be refused.
