Didier Reynders concerned about reports on violence against homosexual men in Chechnya
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders is concerned about reports from international and national organizations on violence against homosexual men in the Chechen republic. Human rights are universal and indivisible. If the reports are confirmed, it is crucial that an investigation is opened, that the perpetrators are prosecuted and that the victims can receive fair compensations.
For Didier Reynders, the fight against discrimination and the respect for the human rights of LGBTI persons is a priority. Belgium is very committed to this cause. The organization of the 5th IDAHOT Forum in Brussels on 19 May illustrates the Belgian commitment on all policy levels.
