Didier Reynders condemns new launch of ballistic missiles by North Korea
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders condemns the new launch by North Korea of ballistic missiles. This is a new violation of the UN Security Council resolutions.
The North Korean ballistic missile program is a threat to regional and international security. It hinders the reopening of a dialogue and weakens the efforts in favor of disarmament and non-proliferation.
Didier Reynders asks the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to abstain from new tests and to carry out its international obligations to create favorable conditions for a renewed dialogue. He calls on the international community to implement the UN Security Council resolutions and to enhance the efforts to reduce tensions. The objective is a pacified and denuclearized Korean peninsula.
