Fly directly from Shanghai to Brussels from today
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier welcome the direct flights connecting Brussels and Shanghai since Wednesday morning October 25th. This date coincides neatly with the 46th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belgium and the People´s Republic of China.
At 01h25 this morning, the maiden flight left Shanghai, touching down in Brussels at 07h30. Hainan Airlines will be flying three times per week between Brussels and Shanghai. This new route is the second direct air connection between Belgium and the People´s Republic of China, in addition to the Beijing-Brussels line.
With more than 66 million passengers last year, Shanghai Pudong International Aiport is the second-busiest airport in China. Brussels Airport is the main airport in Belgium and one of the largest airports in Europe with 21.8 million passengers in 2016. Nearly 80 airline companies use Brussels airport to offer a total of 239 destinations worldwide.
