Goedele Liekens and Adrien Joveneau support Travellers Online

With the Easter holidays approaching,  Foreign Affairs is stepping up its campaign for Travellers Online. We welcome the support of Goedele Liekens and Adrien Jovenau, two well-known media personalities who travel the world, in two promotional clips. Starting as of today, they can be watched on all our social media channels and on our websites.

Travellers Online is a site where Belgian citizens can register their travel and contact details. In case of crisis or problem, Foreign Affairs services can immediately contact our fellow citizens or their designated contacts. All data is automatically deleted 14 days after the end of the trip. Thanks to this tool, our embassies and consulates have a more complete picture on the presence of our fellow citizens abroad, including on Belgian travelers not registered at the embassies, so we can offer them better support.

The site was launched in July 2015 by Foreign Minister Reynders. Since then, 350.000 Belgians have registered their trip on the site. That seems un impressive number, but still too few Belgians automatically register at Travellers Online before they travel. That’s why we renew our call before each and every school holiday. Turkey, Egypt, Spain, the United States and France are the countries for which Belgians up till now have registered the most before their trip.
