Evaluation of the international climate finance by the Belgian federal government
This evaluation focuses on the international climate finance provided by the Belgian federal government during the period 2013 to 2019. Without advocating what an equitable Belgian contribution to climate finance should be, the evaluation examines the framework (regulatory, policy and operational), channels and instruments used to implement the objectives of federal climate finance.
A series of key interventions were selected for in-depth case studies in Burkina Faso, Niger, Rwanda and Vietnam, as well as in Senegal and Tanzania where field missions took place.

The follow-up study of the Digital for Development (D4D) evaluation was conducted in response to the Covid-19 crisis and examined D4D developments within the context of the pandemic. The evaluation focused on the D4D strategy and projects (new/ongoing).
The aim of this complementary study is to draw lessons from current experiences. This will allow for a better understanding of the impact of the crisis on digitalisation strategies and project implementation in partner countries.
This evaluation examined Belgium's core funding policy of multilateral partner organisations. This policy provides contributions to the general resources of these organisations and contributes to an effective multilateralism of which Belgium is a strong supporter.
