Migrant associations

The 'Migration and development' programmes are designed to encourage sustainable human development in the South by giving migrants and migrants' associations the opportunity to make a significant contribution in their homelands, in terms of both know-how and the transfer of goods and financial resources.

Within this basic allowance, there are subsidies for programmes which make it possible for migrants and migrants’ associations to contribute to the development of their home region by reducing poverty. In these programmes, a key role is played by the development of the institutional and management capacities of partner organisations in the South which will include ‘Migration and development’ aspects in the programmes and projects they implement.
