The Special Evaluation Office (SEO) is pleased to invite you to the restitution of the evaluation ‘Integration of decent work in the development of value chains’ that will take place on Friday 27 October 2023 from 9 am to 1 pm in Europe Room (Egmont Palace, Place du petit Sablon 8, 1000 Brussels). A walking lunch is planned between 1 and 2 pm.
Since 2013, decent work is one of the priority themes of the Belgian Development Cooperation. This evaluation examined the integration of decent work within Belgian Development Cooperation interventions with a focus on the development of (agricultural) sustainable value chains.
The plenary session will be opened by Minister of Development Cooperation Caroline Gennez and Special Evaluator Cécilia De Decker. The independent evaluators will then present the evaluation findings and recommendations, followed by a Q&A session. To conclude, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) will present its own research on the topic in a keynote speech. This plenary session will be primarily conducted in English and can be followed on-site or online. Simultaneous translation into English and French will be provided, both for participants on site and online.
After the break, there will be 3 panel discussions (only on-site) that go deeper into the findings. Participants can intervene in English, French or Dutch.
