Privileges and immunities (P1)

Directorate P1 ensures the management of relations between the Belgian State and the foreign diplomatic missions and international organisations represented in Belgium, related to their privileges and immunities.

International organisations (P1.2)

The unit for International Organisations is the point of contact for international organisations in Belgium. It also ensures the proper implementation of the headquarters agreements of these organisations.

P1.2 is responsible for the implementation of the 'Headquarters Agreements' (bilateral and multilateral agreements) determining the status of the international organisations established in Belgium. These 'Headquarters Agreements' determine the fiscal privileges and (judicial) immunities of these organisations and their staff members.

P1.2 is also in charge for issuing special identity cards to the international officials and their family members and manages, together with the international organisations, the administrative aspects of the stay of these persons in Belgium.
