First Activity of the Sablon Diplomatic Circle 2026
On Friday, January 30, 2026, the first activity of the year of the Sablon diplomatic Circle took place, with a guided visit to the BRAFA Art Fair at Brussels Expo. During this event, we had the pleasure of welcoming several new ambassadors, contributing to a particularly warm and convivial start to the year.
The ambassadors or their representatives took part in an exclusive tour led by BRAFA’s finest guides. The selection of artworks demonstrated in an impressive way how BRAFA brings together different artistic periods and forms: from prehistoric discoveries, such as the exceptionally well-preserved skull of the young Triceratops “Baby Jane,” estimated to be around 60,000 years old, to The Preaching of Saint John the Baptist by Jan Brueghel the Elder, and contemporary work by Kenyan artist Thandiwe Muriu, whose creations explore themes of identity, culture, and women’s empowerment.
After the tour, the group was welcomed for an informal moment over a drink, giving participants the opportunity to exchange further. Photos were also taken to capture this first successful event of the year.
Participants were unanimously enthusiastic about the quality of the guided tour, the artistic selection, and the pleasant atmosphere. The event thus marked a strong and inspiring start to the 2026 activities of the Sablon Diplomatic Circle.
