P0.0 (Coordination and General Management)
The Director of Protocol is assisted by the unit P0.0 (Coordination and General Management), which is responsible for the management support for the Protocol Directorate and which coordinates not only relations between the various departments of the Protocol and the other general or support Directorates within the FPS Foreign Affairs, but also between the Protocol and other public and private bodies.
This unit manages horizontal tasks, including the supervision of the financial management, human resources, IT projects, internal and external communication, quality control and makes sure that the incoming and outgoing communications (verbal notes, letters) are registrered and distributed as appropriate.
At the level of the unit P0.0, the entity "Facility Management" is responsible for the management of the buildings of the Egmont Palace and the management of the "Autonomous Administrative Accounting Service" (SACA) Egmont.
With the income of the "SACA Egmont", the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs can finance certain expenses for the maintenance, renovation, technical modernization and restoration of the antique furniture and works of art in the Egmont Palace.
Because the Egmont Palace is an official building of the Belgian state, this building cannot be rented by the foreign diplomatic missions. In principle, private activities, such as birthday and wedding receptions, cannot be organized.
