MH17: Minister Goffin calls for justice to be served

The downing of Flight MH17 on 17 July 2014 claimed the lives of 298 victims, including 6 Belgian citizens. Belgium welcomes the start of the criminal trial on the 9th of March.

The downing of Flight MH17 on 17 July 2014 claimed the lives of 298 victims, including 6 Belgian citizens. Their families deserve to know the truth.

Justice must be served: Belgium welcomes the start of the criminal trial on the 9th of March. This is an important milestone towards holding those responsible for the downing of light MH17 to account. We have full confidence in the independence and professionalism of the legal procedures that are going to take place before a Dutch court, under Dutch law.

As the criminal investigation of the Joint Investigation Team continues, we call upon on cooperate fully with the investigation, in accordance with UN Resolution 2166.
