On the 29th of April, after months of negotiations lead by Belgium, the UN Security Council Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict reached an agreement on recommendations on how to counter violations of children’s rights in Afghanistan.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders is shocked by the particularly heavy and devastating attack of this morning in the diplomatic area of the Afghan capital, Kabul. At least 80 people lost their lives in this attack. His thoughts are with the families and friends of the victims. The Minister offers his condolences to the government and people of Afghanistan and to the countries whose embassies and organizations were hit.
