When you apply for a new passport, the passport service records your photo, your signature and your fingerprints.
Although the Belgian passport is the same for everybody, application procedures differ slightly according to whether you live in Belgium or abroad.
Belgian citizens who are registered neither with a Belgian municipality nor with a Belgian embassy or consulate abroad cannot apply for an ordinary passport. They can only apply for a provisional passport.
